Whether you’re traveling to places near or far this holiday season, it’s a good idea to take steps to secure your data and devices.
For instance:
- Encrypt laptops and other mobile devices to keep data secure if the device is lost or stolen.
- Keep all software, including antivirus, up to date on all devices.
- Use a UW VPN such as Husky OnNet to connect to UW data.
- Never leave your laptop or mobile device unattended.
- Be selective about which computers you access data and use your passwords on. If possible, avoid using shared computers such as those in Internet cafés and public kiosks.
